My first day in Peru

We arrived in Lima on March 4th during the night after 20 hours of travel, changing time and weather. It was midnight and it was summer!

In our hotel “Espana”, there were many exotic animals (parrots, turtles,..), and we felt like we were in an other place in the world. The morning after we took a continental breakfast made with many delicious things. We decided to solve some problems with our luggage and then to visit the downtown…but in few minutes we learnt that here, everything takes time, and nothing goes in a hurry.

We visited the centre of the city, Plaza de Armas also called Plaza Mayor and we walked to Barrio Chino, where we could see a lot of shop in the street. We tried the tasty Peruvian food and in the afternoon we visited the Museo de la Inquisicion and the Congreso.

Later eating an ice- cream we met two guys that spoke about the neighbourhood of Lima, Miraflores and Barranco so we decided to take the bus to go there. The sunset in the ocean in the Lovers Park of Miraflores was the best that I’ve seen in my life, where I admired a sculpture of two lovers in the middle of the garden and colored walls written with poetical thoughts.
