An incredible human adventure

Posted on by Simona

It's beautiful to see how and how much people open themselves to you, when they feel just that you're there and that you deserve their trust. For example, when I'm walking in the streets of Nazca, and someone asks me how long I'm going to stay here, as I answer that I'll stay untill August, the gaze of the people changes, and it becames shining and somewhat incredulous: I'm not a simple tourist, but I'm doing something important for their land. Thanks to this normal and amazing process, I'm having the possibility to experience and to know many precious things (from the terrible sufferings that an human being can sustain, to simple informations about people and places). For example, I've been able to see a real “curandera”, that lives close to Nazca. It was incredible for me, because I' didin't think that I would have succeed in that. I tought that I would love to meet and to speak to one of them, and, fortunately, everithing has happened. She was a very old woman, a descendant of the african slaves. Despite she could move only by means of a big effort, her smile had a very present and strong power. I looked at her during the ritual she was doing to free me from a particoular fear. The thing that, above all, stroke me was the perfect symbiosis of the cristianism with her ancient and ancestral religion. She used two kind of vegetables typical of Perù and prayed saying word that I could only in part understand. One of the most frequent things she said was: “Dios conmigo, yo con él; él delante, yo detràs de él” (that is “God with me, I with him; He forward, I behind Him”).
