EVS Experience Part II

Today I will talk about my EVS experience during February, March, April and May. Some weeks ago I wrote an article about the first months. Now I will talk about the activities progresses.

February: the Community Center was close and I missed a lot my friends and my work there.During this month, we could live the Spring Festival and was very good to know more the Chinese Culture and travel a little.

I started a new activity with a Zigen colleague about sexual education. He works in Yunnan Province and are starting to think about this project to implement there. During an informal conversation, we changed some ideas and it was very interesting. He come back to Yunnan and we stayed in touch. I made a research about the teenager sexuality in China -more specific in psychosocial topics. It was not so easy to found material about this, but it is almost an important information. We could discuss about this and have some ideas. This project will run in the future. I am happy that was possible contribute a little on this.

March: the Community Center activities come back, so it was good to me. I really missed a lot the place and the people. My monthly activities focus stayed more on the support and on the Trainee's Manual. On Zigen office I made some general works like help to do some letters to the partners, separating materials and send this. 

Some times I had much things to do, some times little. I used this time to dedicate to my personal projects. Like all experience, this had good moments and less good moments. But to me, the good moments was much more then the less good!

April: the activities ran normally until I have my holidays. To the holidays my brother come and we made a travel around China. I could know important and beautiful China cities like Shanghai, Hangzhou, Guilin, Dali, Lijiang, Chengdu and Xi'an. It was very, very good! We loved it!

May: the volunteers trainee about psychosocial topics started. To manage the language difficulties a colleague are making the translation English to Chinese. I used several time to make the trainee's material and the Trainee's Manual more clear possible, and to learn the key words in English. Still now, the trainee are working good. The volunteers are motivated and interested on the topics. They are participative, talking about their experiences. At the moment, I am working too on some Trainee's Manual adjustments. During the trainee was possible to see that some changes are necessary. My colleagues liked the trainee idea, the trainee structure, and soon the Trainee's Manual will be increased with other interesting topics in different areas. 

This is the last month and now is current fell that this experience are finishing... It's a reflection time, make valuations and start thinking in the back. 

Say goodbey will be difficult! But I am really happy I could live all this!
